11 April 2008 @ 6.43 am was our little girl’s 1st birthday. How fast time flies. Rasa tak puas lak masa dlm pantang dulu tgk mulut dia cam anak burung nak makan sbb time tu asyik bf at least in 2 hours time. Bau dia masa baby pun rindu la nak bau lagi.
Happy 1st birthday sayang. Ibu & ayah doakan yg terbaik buat Haifa. Ibu sayang kat Haifa walaupun kekadang tu ada gak ibu marah2 sbb ada masa2 tertentu dia suka memerap tak abis2. Alhamdulillah Allah masih beri kesabaran kat ibu. Iye la baby, kan nature dia suka dibelai, dipeluk, memerap (ini utk case my Haifa kot?) sbb baby kan akan rasa comfort & secure? Ok just a little update on Haifa's current milestones: 
- Alhamdulillah still fully breastfeed.
- Btw, attach sgt dgn ibu, bila tido malam kalo terjaga nak bf siap la…jerit + nangis…cam org kena dera pun ada. Kalo ibu kat dapur, mesti terkedek2 dtg. Itu belum lagi ibu masuk toilet!
- Baru dapat kaki. Kerja dia skrg ni kalo tak tido asyik berjalan aje. Masa 11 bulan dulu, baru 3-4 steps.
- Lasak ya amat. Badan tu dah la kecik, dgn lasak lagi. Kakak Humaira awak tak lasak camni tau! Tak caya dah prinsip boy mmg lasak sbb sesapa pegang dia mesti komplen, bole tahan lasak budak ni..takmo duk diam langsung.
- Gigi dah ada 4 batang kat atas & 2 batang kat bawah.
- Goyang2 badan bila dengar lagu cuppycake, barney, kuritero (yg “tango” tu), game hp ibu & apa saja bunyian yg pada dia sedap.
- Dah tau salam, bye2 & kiss kalo disuruh.
- Kalo ayah panggil dia, “mana sayang ayah, mana manja ayah, mana bulat ayah” nnti dia datang la terkedek2 & gi baring & peluk badan ayah. Cute je.
- Dah rajin panjat katil. Turun pun terror gak, tapi ibu masih was2. Kalo nmpk dia nak turun, kena stanby dekat dia.
- Pandai tepuk amai2 & angkat tangan kalo ibu tanya, “where is my pretty girl?” Hehe…lawaknya si kakak akan tunggu ibu cakap, “where is another pretty girl?”, cepat2 la dia angkat tangan.
- Tak pandai panggil sesapa. Kalo nak menda, “aaar..aaar” sambil tunjuk je la.
- Bole give me five…(hehe..baru ajar ahad aritu)
We all tak celebrate bday Haifa kat mana2, Cuma ibu buat coklat cake dgn dibantu oleh my lil’ assistant Miss Humaira. She’s enjoying baking the cake padahal masa tu dia tgh demam. Walaupun kek sangat la tak menarik, tapi bangga la dpt buat kek specially dedicated to her *whink*

Ikut ayah yg ada kerja kat Kuantan semalam. Aktiviti wajib lepas settle kerja ayah tu, lunch di TC, gi McD TC, then, gerak balik ke KL.
Kuat sungguh angin masa ni & ombak kuat gila. Boleh dengar bunyi dush2 bila ombak sampai pantai. First time tgk angin monsun kat TC sbb sebelum ni bila datang sini time bukan monsun. Ingat nak juga buat poyoshoot Humaira & Haifa tapi keadaan cuaca tak mengizinkan. Tak berani nak bawa Haifa dekat pantai, takut mata masuk pasir. Sempat amik pic Humaira aje, itu pun rambut manjang tutup separuh muka jer. Sibuk dia ajak turun dekat pantai tu, tapi ibu tak bagi!…degil jugak tu…hehe…nasib baik ibu pantas sambar tangan dia. Tak lama pun sbb tetiba hujan turun. Walaupun hujan pegi gak tapau sundae cone kat McD TC, pastu gerak ke KL….latest update TC dah ada KFC jugak.

Long journey for mother's milk

Toddler Silas Bohl gets special deliveries every two weeks from his mom halfway across the globe, and he just eats them up.
Silas turns 1 later this month. His mom, Ginger Bohl, is deployed overseas and sends her breast milk home from a war-torn land.
"It's my wife," says Michael Bohl, her husband and Silas' father. "She is an amazing woman - her spirit, her faith, everything about her just shines."
Ginger Bohl, an Air Force captain, is an active-duty doctor deployed in Afghanistan from Goodfellow Air Force Base. Since leaving in late August, Bohl has sent home biweekly shipments of her breast milk, frozen and shipped in 30- to 40-pound quantities directly to the Bohl family.
Thirty-five pounds of milk is about 4 gallons' worth. This delicate commodity makes it halfway across the planet, a distance of more than 8,000 miles, in just three short days.
While Michael Bohl and the children have spent the majority of the recent months in Michigan visiting family, Ginger made time each day to pump milk using a Medela breast pump. Michael said she had reservations about being able to pump and store the milk on a daily basis.
Electricity and a working freezer were a must - what if the necessary facilities weren't available?
"My wife left with faith that everything would be provided for," Bohl said. "And it has."
Ginger sends the breast milk to her stateside family in one of several Igloo Ice Cube coolers using DHL shipping services. Michael then packs the cooler with items he thinks she might want or need and sends it back. He recognizes that not every family is as fortunate as his, as the shipping costs could be prohibitive.
"We're really blessed that we can afford to make these shipments so often," Bohl said. "But it can get quite pricey, and because of that, it's cost-prohibitive for a lot of military families."
On a recent day at the Bohl home, Olivia Bohl, 3 1/2 years old, squealed with delight as she played with her toys and listened to music. Her brother Silas was down for his daily nap, and Michael Bohl took a breath of temporary relief known only to those who have the important job of raising children.
Since no moratorium exists on training exercises or deployment for breast-feeding mothers, Michael Bohl said, he feels that the military should make more of an effort to provide facilities for mothers who choose to breast-feed.
"What I'd really love to see the military do is provide compensation for families who choose to breast-feed their children," he said, "even though the mother is away on deployment."
However, the problem is not simply cost-related: Bohl said he recognizes that what some take for granted in the U.S. is simply not an option in many parts of the world.
"Something as simple as an electrical outlet and a freezer can make all the difference," he said.
Lt. Col. Susan Baker at Goodfellow Air Force Base said that there has been no moratorium on deployment for breast-feeding mothers beyond the first four months of a child's life since late 2006. Baker acknowledged that deployed breast-feeding mothers can encounter obstacles. "It's highly dependent on where a person is deployed," she said. "Some places are better-equipped than others."
Help with wrangling bureaucracy would help many families that share the Bohls' desire to breast-feed. Bohl says his family encountered a lot of red tape when trying to ship the breast milk.
Shipments have been held up by customs and the USDA because of the potential for infectious diseases.
"There's one guy at JFK (airport in New York City) who is now very informed about the benefits of breast-feeding and why we needed the milk right away," Bohl said. "I was even sent to the IRS to get the milk because they thought we were running some kind of Afghani breast-milk ring."
Through all the mishaps and difficulties, Ginger Bohl has been able to provide vital nutrition for Silas.
In an additional contact provided by the United Through Reading military program, Ginger also has been able to read to her children. Through the use of a webcam, the children are able to see their mother whenever they wish.
Ginger Bohl returns to her family in a few days. Whether Silas will be able to resume breast-feeding with his mother is unclear.
"She's been gone for so long, nearly half of his life," Bohl said. "Every time he hears her on the TV, he crawls up to touch it. He knows her face and her voice. He knows his mommy. I know it won't be a problem."
Every two weeks since early September 2007, young Silas Bohl has received a special package from halfway around the world. His mother, Capt. Ginger Bohl, is deployed with the Air Force in Afghanistan. The packages contain 30 to 40 pounds of frozen breast milk that travels in a convoluted, globe-trotting shipping route from the war zone to the Bohls' home. Ginger Bohl's deployment wraps up in mid-January, and she hopes to be back in San Angelo in time for Silas' first birthday.

Saya mmg fobia kalo diarahkan utk gi outstation. Boleh terima kalo berjauhan dgn anak2, tapi tak boleh nak terima hakikat tak dapat nak bf. Memang kita masih boleh bf jika outstation, tapi byk sgt halangan. Mungkin ilmu exclusive bf tak cukup dan sokongan dari pihak ketiga tiada. Mcm Ginger Bohl kat dlm article ni, sbb dia kuat semangat utk bf anak dia dan yg plg penting sekali berduit, then, baru dpt realisasikan utk bf anak dia!
Saja la nak luahkan perasaan...hehe. Fyi, I failed to exclusive bf Humaira, bf dia during non working hours aje. Bukan tak boleh buat, tapi masa tu zero knowledge on ebf (hmm..alasan!). Masa Haifa 50-50 jugak nak ebf. Di awal nak ebf Haifa, mak saya sendiri tak berapa setuju! Nasib baik mak tak duduk sama dgn saya. Dia selalu aje ngomel bagi la susu tepung. Tapi alhamdulillah, akhirnya mak dpt accept. Itu pun baru2 ni lepas Haifa masuk 9 mos last Jan. Tapi ada jugak terselit,plan nak cari kan susu tepung utk Haifa. Hehe…tapi ada penghalang sbb abah saya sokong 100% bf. Dah 2-3 kali mak datang rumah saya since dia pencen bulan Jan aritu, saja nak jaga cucu2. Syukur sgt pandai pulak tu panaskan ebm (express breast milk)…hehe. Saya mmg tak dpt support dari mak langsung utk ebf! Cuma maybe hati saya aje yg beriya2 nak give d best to my kids…insyaAllah. And I get full support from my hubby! Alhamdulillah, Allah permudahkan, walaupun mak tak support tapi at least saya masih ada kawan2 yg support dari segi pengalaman, ilmu dan tunjukajar. Love you guys.

Lama tak update. Saje update her milestone. Turns 10 mos on Feb 11.
- Berat 6.6 kg. I wonder why, body anak2 ibu masa baby tak penah bulats & bam2 spt babies lain? tapi consider pejals & mantap...uiks masuk lif tekan sendiri Mmg badan ibu category kecik, tapi ada gak mommies lain yg slim & kecik. Tapi babies diaorg kuss semangat!
- Alhamdulillah masih exclusive bf
- Kalo org bye-bye..dah pandai balas balik
- Suka hisap hp ayah
- Pandai tunjuk benda yg dia interested. Hari tu pegi rmh relative ibu, ada chandelier light…asyik tunjuk-tunjuk ke atas aje. Alamak, ibu can’t afford to buy that thing la sayang.
- Merangkak speed laju gear 5; pernah sekali bertatih 1-2 langkah
- Dah tumbuh 2 batang gigi serentak kat atas, me perasan gigi2 tu 15/2/08 update: as at today 29th Feb dah ada 4 batang gigi kat atas
- Pantang dengar lagu I love u (Barney’s song), twinkle twinkle little star, strawberry shortcake. Paling suka kalo dengar lagu twinkle twinkle little star versi tamil slang. Siap angkat tangan showing that hey, I'm enjoying this song

Hehe...aci tak beriya lah amik gmbr passport utk register dia preschool. Jangan terpedaya...kalo senyuman aje meleret, tapi nangis gi skolah
Ok la…dah tak dilemma lagi sbb kami dah register Humaira masuk preschool. Mmg last minute buat decision. Umo dia baru 4 thn bulan lapan ni. Tapi fikir balik, Humaira duk dgn bbsitter sejak umo dia 2 bln. Ditatang bagai minyak yg penuh. Kat rmh ibu & ayah selalu take for granted. Jarang encourage dia tulis / lukis / warna. At least kalo kat preschool dia dpt kawan, belajar & other activities utk 3 jam. Jangan tertipu tau dgn senyuman meleret Humaira dlm gambar utk preschool dia. Masa register, which is a few days b4 class started, teacher was impressed with her. I think she will be ok. She won’t be crying. Hmm…tengok apa dah jadi
First day dia last week hari Rabu, 2 Jan. First day, ok. But, she was not Humaira that I’ve known! Senyap, muka agak masam & waktu teacher bawa gi main slide, dia main dgn keadaan terpaksa. Baru 2-3 round dah stop. Datang kat ibu..ibu nak swim. Ada ke
Second day, tak berapa ok. Sebab dia menangis nak ibu. Teacher cakap dia nangis lepas sejam masuk class. Tapi, masa tu ibu & ayah gi breakfast kat kedai nearby. Anyway, teacher managed to comfort her. Masa balik, siap satu topi clown buat kat class. Hehe…dlm banjir tu smpt gak dia buat topi ek.
Third day, tak berapa ok. Sama situation macam second day. Ibu dengar dia nangis, tapi, ibu pesan kat teacher, try to handle her. Siap ibu nyorok gi kat keta. Iye la, mmg sayu je dengar tapi takkan nak layan nnti 4th, 5th, 6th day & so on camner?? Ok kot sbb as long as teacher tak call makna nye dia dpt handle. Tapi hari ni, masa sampai Humaira dah tau shoes dia punya position. Hehe…good girl…sejuk hati ibu sbb ngenangkan dia menangis tadi. Hmm…tu je la.
Arini dah fourth day & first time dia gi preschool bbsitter dia anta. Baru je report Humaira nangis bila sampai. Teacher suruh bbsitter jgn tunggu, takpa nnti dia handle. Apa ek dia tengah buat skrg ni

Lama gak FP ni tak di update
Sempat lagi kan nak ucap Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri & Maaf Zahir Batin. Semoga Syawal kali ni meriah dan penuh kesyukuran...insyaAllah. Suka sgt tgk FP org lain update raya's entry...meriah betul. Yg bebudak comels banget pakai baju raya
Cita pasal kejadian sehari dua sebelum raya dulu yer.
Tahun ni raya kat kg ayah di Chemor dulu. Balik hari Khamis 11hb, b4 tu buka posa kat Alamanda sambil last minute soping sbb nak belikan baju baru pak ncu. Since ni adik bogsu ayah & ibu pun takde adik, tiap thn mesti ibu tong2 ngan ayah beli baju dia. Lagipun sian kat dia xde baju baru lagi. Lepas tu kemas2 brg then greak. Jalan agak jammed sbb highway dari Rawang-Tg Malim yg tak siap2 tu. Tu pun gerak dekat nak midnite. Sampai Kg Kuang, Chemor pkl 4 pagi terus je bersahur.
Jumaat tu punya la semangat mengecat rumah. Ayah, adik2 ipar, cousin ayah suma bersungguh2 tu. Ibu pun naik geram sbb mcm best je tgk org mengecat..ada la tlg cat dlm area 1 meter kot, tp penat woo. Humaira lagi la. Nasib baik ada berus kecik bagi kat dia. Mak oi abis ati dpt cat tu.
Operasi mengecat diteruskan smpi ke petang..tapi cam tak penat je. Maybe cuaca sejuk n last day puasa kot. Malam pulak pulun main bunga api.
1 Syawal
Gi beraya kat rumah opah long, opah soyah & tuk teh. Tak jauh pun, sbb suma nye duk area2 situ je. Selebihnya duk umah sbb sanak-sedara datang. Petang selesai dah..hehe..siap ikut ayah g cuci keta kat Tg Rambutan. Mlm g rumah opah cik & opah nyah. Dah malam sikit gerak ke Seremban rumah mak & abah ibu.
Yg syok nye kalo kat sini ibu relax sikit sbb tak payah nak layan sgt Humaira & Haifa. Monitor je sikit2. Selebihnya, mak2 bidan ramai tolong layankan. Anak dara kecik tu, Haifa, macam lupa diri aje. Apa tak nye, ibu pegang dia masa dia nak nyusu je. Humaira lagi la heaven. Kalo ngan makcik2 dia suma hajat hati dapat dipenuhi. Hehe…ibu ni byk sgt yg tak boleh dari yg boleh.
2 Syawal
Sepanjang siang hari kat rumah sbb makcik2, cousins belah mak & abah ibu datang. Aduh macam tak cukup tangan ibu and SIL. Nasib baik mak amik maid tolong dlm seminggu raya tu. Malam baru gi raya kat umah tuk teh & uwan angah kat Ampangan & Senawang.
3 Syawal
Boleh tak cakap pepagi kitaorag 2 bijik keta – uwan, atuk, ibu, ayah, paklong, maklong, 2H & anak2 paklong gi KL! Reason bukan pegi beraya tapi shopping kat KLCC. Ni idea uwan bertuah lah. Uwan mmg tiap kali raya dia mesti belikan baju raya cucu2 sepasang sorang. Dia kata kat Seremban tak cantik baju budak! Petang pukul 5 kitaorang sampai Seremban dah. Malam ibu, ayah & Haifa gi beraya rumah kawan ayah di Rembau. Humaira boleh tak nak ikut padahal dah siap pakai baju raya tu. Lagi syok main ngan kak Batrisya & abang Irfan (anak2 paklong).
4 Syawal
Beraya rumah uwan teh kat Rembau. Asyik ke Remabu je pulak. Ingatkan mlm tadi nak g umah uwan teh, tapi dah lewat mlm sgt. Lagipun Humaira kan tak ikut. Uwan teh n anak2 eh mmg dah miss betul ngan cik kakak sorang tu. Paklong & family pun ikut, pastu diaorg terus ke Batu Pahat rumah ayah SIL. Lepas tu duk umah je layan tetamu.

Siang duk umah je. Layan tetamu lagi. Malam kitaorang balik KL sebab ada agenda lain nak dibuat
